Thank you Lord for all you have provided for me. My health, my husband, my children, my job, my home, my vehicles…the list just keeps going in my head.
Sunday in church the pastor said we should use our spiritual gifts for his kingdom work. All I could think was, “What are my spiritual gifts? Where can I use them? How can I find time to use them?” I looked up a spiritual gift test and then began studying my spiritual gifts and how to use them. I have done this before but years ago and I wanted to refresh my mind as to the gifts that I have been given. I was also curious as to what new may have developed through life experience between my previous analysis and my new analysis.
This is what the test gave me in order of strength:
- Helping
- Faith
- Hospitality
- Encouragement
- Writing
- Exhortation
I can see these gifts in myself but never realized they could be considered gifts. I love to write and have kept journals for years; I use my journals to pray and communicate with God. I find it clears my mind and helps me refocus when things get chaotic. I even outline thoughts I get from my Bible readings; in fact, I just found an outline of ephiphanies that I have come across over the years. Maybe I will add those to this blog and see what others think about the ideas or concepts.
I decided to take this gift of writing and put it online. Start sharing my thoughts and see what becomes of this process on a global scale. I hope to help others and have others help me, a coop of ideas and writings.
