Matt 24:35 ” Sky and earth will wear out; my words won’t wear out.”
I have a few thoughts on the environmental issues that are so trendy. I know we are to take care of what we have been given stewardship over but this current world as not intended to last forever. After the fall in the Garden of Eden, the earth and humanity began a gradual deterioration. Environmentalism is trying to become God in preserving the earth’s resources and longevity. Only God can control the aging process that the earth goes through. It is another way that man tries to be God in order to preserve their own will on this earth.
As a Christian I see the ozone layer thinning and the changes on earth as a fulfillment of the promises in the Bible that a new heaven and earth is due to come. I am not upset or surprised about the world falling apart; we are told that it will. I worry that is a sign that time for mercy is running short for those you have not accepted Christ. We as missionaries are coming to end of our “shift”; is all of our work done? What will the our answer be when asked, “what have you done with what I gave you?” Will the Lord say “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”
What is your perspective on this idea?
